Debbie Marks DIRECTOR OF DECOR FOR THE lONDON SEASON reveals what it takes to bring the event to life & What It's like to attend the QUEEN CHARLOTTE'S BalL.
The Queen Charlotte's ball is always one of my highlight events of the year. I get to put on a beautiful dress, and attend a ball with my husband dressed in white tie, with some of the worlds most affluent individuals. It is truly a magical evening steeped in history and traditions. I've always loved networking but this event is another level and has brought me wonderful contacts from all over the globe. My favourite part of the evening is watching the debutantes waltz with their fathers. It's like being in a fairytale and also stepping back in time 100's of years. The debutantes are dressed in the most magnificent ball gowns.
Weeks of planning goes into the decor for the ball to ensure that every element is perfect. From choosing the linens, to the charger plates and of course the table centrepieces and florals are always a show stopping feature.
