Styling a Dreamy Winter Wonderland Wedding
(Sophie & Max)

Stunning and luxe, Sophie Harney and Max Lomax exchanged vows with a winter wedding that defines timeless elegance. With a white, grey, vintage pink/mauve, and silver palette, Sophie and Max invited their guests to a cosy winter wonderland.

They chose to marry within the warm sandstone walls of Peckington Castle and Stone House Lane where the lush Cheshire countryside creates an idyllic setting for a fairytale romance. Known for its verdant grounds, vaulted dining rooms, marble floors, and crackling open fires, this castle is famous for its romance and magic. Dreaming up the enchanted mood of the day, Qube’s award-winning wedding specialist, Debbie Marks, and her talented team brought it to life in exquisite fashion.

The day started at 1:00 pm, with photographer, Caroline White and Videographers, Marry Me Films capturing candid moments before the ceremony at 2pm. To welcome the guests and set the scene, a black and white, “This Way To Our Wedding” sign guided everyone outside the venue. Leading to the entrance of the castle, soft snow and silver Chedworth lanterns lit the stone steps. Hanging crystals sparkled from the branches of manzanita trees which met the guests as they walked inside.

Florals Fit For
A Winter Princess

Sophie and Max had an abundance of natural and silk flowers to create the right look. The large, hand-tied bridal bouquet was an extraordinary mix of white seasonal flowers with touches of vintage pink/mauve, brunia berries and silver leaf. The bridesmaids, dressed in grey, had smaller versions of the bridal bouquet, and hair clips with 5 separate white spray roses. The beautiful 6-year old flower girl had the same flower hair clips and carried an ivory heart wand with a fresh white rose and trailing white ribbons. For the ladies’ corsages, seasonal white flowers and foliage echoed the beauty of the bridal bouquet.

Max had a lovely buttonhole in the same palette of white, vintage pink/mauve rose, silver leaf and brunia berry detailing. The groomsmen had simple white rose buttonholes with delicate silver leaf (dusty miller) foliage while the adorable 2-year old Page Boy had a small white flower (to complement the bridal bouquet) pinned to his tux.

Florals For Cool Romance

With the grandeur of Peckington Castle as the backdrop, Sophie and Max had breathtaking white florals to enhance the venue’s beauty. The ceremony faced the stage, with a thick silk floral runner of white flowers, trailing orchid stems and snowy willow cloaking the regal balcony. Whispy white ribbons with ethereal, lit globes were suspended in different lengths at each end to create a scene of wonder.

The gorgeous couple walked under a floral archway with white silk flowers and snowy willow to match the balcony blooms. At the top of the ceremony room, an acrylic arch of white silk flowers, snowy willow, and orchid stems was wow-worthy with hanging crystal droplets and glass icicles for a dreamy scene. Paired with the palette’s muted shades of pink, mauve, silver, and brunia berries, it was a twinkling winter wedding dripping in elegance.

Wintery Wedding Reception Decor

Choosing from Qube’s massive selection of event hire, Sophie and Max had white decor to brighten the moody warmth of the castle. For the ceremony, a lush white, candlelit aisle with over 100 cylinder vases filled with water and floating white candles weaved glittering magic.
These vases are a lovely choice because they can be reused for the wedding breakfast and top tables too. Silver mottled t-light holders surrounded candlelit, water-filled vases on the stone window sill for a fairytale feel.

To frame their iconic first kiss, plinths with white orchid trees added dramatic flair to the nuptials. And with snow lightly sprinkled over the scene, the day was transformed into an icy romance.

Dreaming Of White Winter Tablescapes

The wedding breakfast began at 4pm with white wedding thrones for the couple during drinks. Evening guests arrived at 7pm, where they indulged in a sweet buffet with jars and vases filled to the brim with 8 different treats. Replenished throughout the night, guests could enjoy their favourite sweets among candlelight and snow.

For the reception, round tables were dressed with the same theme of silver mottled t-lights, water-filled, candlelit vases and snow scatter. 7-foot white orchid trees with hanging crystal goblets and clear glass t-light holders created the perfect centrepieces for this winter wedding. Throughout the room, the right balance of chic and glitz was made with white and silver sequin linens and ice Chivari chairs. The wedding cake was made by Sugar Perfection and looked spectacular on a white table with 10 silver mottled t-lights and snow scatter.

Sophie and Max also wanted an area for their guests to relax. White furniture including a Chesterfield, coffee table and leatherette cube-shaped pieces created a sleek look against the historic backdrop of the castle’s interior.

After the reception, guests made memories with a 3D greenscreen photobooth provided by Qube. This photo booth is stacked with fun props and lab-quality photos to take home in full-colour or black and white. At midnight, Sophie and Max finished the dreamy romance by surprising everyone with carriages.
